Here are some good guidelines to follow if you wear contact lenses.

Contact lens wear is safe

  • Despite myths and misinformation, contact lens wear remains a safe and effective form of vision correction.

Proper hand washing is essential

  • Before inserting and removing contacts, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Dry your hands with unused paper towels.

Disinfect or toss contact lenses

  • Dispose of Daily contact lenses every evening. For monthly and two-week lenses soak every night in your contact lens solution.

Discontinue lens wear if you are sick

  • Following guidance for other types of illness, if you are sick you are advised to throw away that pair of contacts.
